This is my journey towards a PhD
Here is a short introduction to my current projects. You will find more information on my ongoing work and future prospects under the page "research interests". My work is currently funded by Turun yliopistosäätiö.
This project is based on a long term food web manipulation experiment at lake Iesjavri, Finnmark, Northern Norway. Here I am studying the responses of plant communities and diversity to different intensities of grey-sided vole grazing, and linking above-ground processes with soil chemistry and decomposition.
In this project I am combining plant species distribution data with e.g. geological, topographical, biotic and climatological data to disentangle the underlying drivers of rare Fennoscandian arctic-alpine plant distributions and hotspots. Work is a subproject under the Nordic Center of Excellence TUNDRA.
Zoochory in reindeer has been studied in the past, but all the studies so far have focused on seeds transported in feces. In this study I am planning to determine the combined seed transport potential of reindeer hooves and faeces.
